The Sakura time has come .

Under blooming cherry trees , people are drinking , eating , chattering  and laughing with  close people. Such scene is a little bit odd for foreign people .But this is the traditional custom which is very popular way to enjoy spring in Japan.

People get restless from around the middle of March. Where do we go to see cherry blossom this year ? When ? Who do I accompany ?  Weather forecast program on TV add a time to show ‘Sakura Zensen(cherry blossom front)’  , because many people need information of when cherry blossom will get in bloom. A newscaster says like “Sakura Zensen is coming up to north around Kyushu area. It will reach to Tokyo next week end.”  You can know how cherry blossoms in popular local parks are blooming in newspapers as well. Travel agencies make merchantise featureing them. Musicians release sakura songs. And ‘Sakura’has been popular first name for girls.

Just for a month addiction to cherry blossom.

On the next post , I would like to write ‘Sakura Mountain’in Nara.
